Utility Billing & Collections

Use the City customer portal to view and pay a water/sewer, sanitation and related utility bill. For new accounts opened on or after March 1, 2026, the City says only property owners can establish accounts under the current ordinance. Existing tenant accounts are unchanged unless service is disconnected. Deposits vary by meter size and service mix.

Lauderserv requests

Use Lauderserv to report a City-maintained street, sidewalk, drain, traffic signal, cart or public-space issue. Include the exact location and a clear description; this helps the City route the request. For immediate hazards or broken utility lines, call the 24-hour center rather than waiting for an online request.

Account rules changed in 2026. If a new Fort Lauderdale utility account is needed, the current City guidance says the property owner must open it for accounts established from March 1, 2026 onward. Tenants with existing active accounts are treated separately unless service is disconnected. Check directly with Utility Billing if your move or lease falls near that rule.
