Home services, routed clearly

The City buys water from Miami-Dade County but distributes it through the City’s own system. The City also bills water, sewer, solid waste, stormwater and recycling on one utility bill.

Water account, move or payment

Reach Hialeah Gardens Water & Sewer at 13601 NW 107 Avenue. Posted office hours are 8 a.m.–5 p.m.; customer service is 305-822-3017. Online payments are available through InvoiceCloud; the merchant applies a $1.25 processing fee.

To open an account, the City asks for proof of ownership or, for renters, a lease or notarized owner letter plus identification. The deposit is calculated when the account is opened.

Break, backup or shutoff

For an after-hours broken water or sewer line or sewer backup, the City directs residents to call Police at 305-558-3333. Water shutoffs for nonpayment must be addressed with Water & Sewer during regular hours.

For billing, service start/stop or account questions, use Water & Sewer Customer Service: 305-822-3017.

Garbage, recycling & bulky items

Regular garbage and recycling are contracted services. Bulk pickup is organized by neighborhood area on a posted 2026 schedule. Check your zone before setting items out: bulk and tree debris must be in separate piles, each no larger than 6 by 6 feet, and placed out no more than 24 hours before the scheduled date.

Construction debris, tires, batteries, oil and propane tanks are excluded from bulk collection. If pickup runs late, the City says collection continues the next day.

Streets, trees & stormwater

Public Works maintains public streets and rights-of-way and oversees the City’s stormwater utility. The Maintenance Department handles bulk collection, overgrown-tree pruning requests, clean public rights-of-way and city-facility maintenance.

Public Works general line: 305-558-4114. Maintenance: 305-823-1876.

Building, business & a living garden

Permitting is local, and the city’s botanical landmark is a real public place—not just a name on the map.

Permits & inspections

The Building Department next to City Hall reviews permits for construction and renovation. Counter hours are 8 a.m.–5 p.m.; permit submissions are accepted 8 a.m.–4:30 p.m. weekdays. Call 305-558-4114 ext. 221 to arrange help from the Building Official or an inspector.

Applications may require proof of ownership, notarized signatures, current surveys, contractor registration and outside approvals. Requirements vary by project, so review the city checklist before filing.

Hialeah Gardens Botanical Garden

The City’s five-acre public garden features more than 500 native species and 45,000+ plants. It gives residents a quiet green destination and makes the city’s garden identity tangible.

Check the City’s current opening hours and facility notices before visiting.

One bill, several services.

For Hialeah Gardens households, the City states that water, sewer, garbage, stormwater and recycling appear on one utility bill. That makes the City’s Water & Sewer office a strong first stop for billing, but service repair responsibilities can still involve other departments or County partners.
